Although running and physical fitness is one of the most important aspects of life, sometimes you have to put other priorities first. Now this didn't mean I stopped running entirely, but it meant that the time requirements to train for a half marathon were not in the cards. Sometimes understanding the limits of your time and accepting you can't do everything without mentally, physically, and emotionally destroying yourself is a huge accomplishment.
Running is teaching me so much about my will to succeed and survive. I run to be kind to myself. To give myself a little slice of the day where I am the most important person.

Finding the Zone
Since home can be a state-of-being and not a specific place, my part-time home for the past 3 years has been a place I call "The Zone". Its my zen, my sanctuary, my unconditional love found on the open road with my feet beneath me. Moving one in front of the other without thought.
After mile 1, I find it and then we just go.
